I have always been interested in animal husbandry, biology and behaviour. This led me to study a BTEC National Diploma in Animal Management and subsequently complete a degree in Zoology.
Studying zoology provided me with in-depth knowledge in areas such as ethology (the science of animal behaviour), animal biology, physiology, animal evolution and diversity, species conservation and ecology. This was an interesting course and hugely beneficial to me in understanding animal behaviour, including our domesticated dog!
After helping family and friends train their canine companions and of course my own dogs, this led me to pursue my career in dog training and walking. Owning a dog is hugely rewarding and they really are a part of the family but it can also be extremely stressful. Having experienced how challenging owning a dog can be, I wanted to help owners and their dogs achieve the goals they so desperately wanted. Volunteering in a dog rescue also gives me invaluable experience to understanding various canine behaviours. This first hand experience helps in recognising patterns, identifying tiggers and interpreting body language.
Knowledge is the key, for both dog and dog owner. Let me teach you how to achieve great communication and a solid, ever lasting bond, between you and your dog.
Being an accredited dog trainer through the IMDT (Institute of Modern Dog Trainers), I promote modern science-based techniques that are force free and proven to have lasting results.I am trained in Dog First Aid, DBS checked and fully insured.
